A simple strategy for physical Educators Interested In preventing childhood obesity

Here is a simple three step study which I would like to challenge physical educator in the United States. It's really quite simple, check it out.

1. the detection of all children in your school containing at least one needs to be able to carry out legitimate pull up. And by the legitimate pull up do I use the old "all the way up and at the very bottom on the right. It tells you all the way down (straight elbows) begin, and pull all the way (Chin is touching the bar). everything else, such as kicking, screaming, moaning, growling, and cursing grimassend (under your breath) is fair game.

2. check out this list of children and one of them that you consider would identify obese. in other words, I want to know if children in your school at the same time be able to pull its ups and are obese? my intuitive bet is no, but we sure.

3. If you want to take it one step further, and divide your list into three groups

o those who between one and five pull-ups, can do

o those who are between six and ten pull-ups, can do

d and those who have more than ten pull ups can do.

o Then stand back and see if there is no difference between the three groups because of their tendency to excess weight.

o my own bet is that the more pull ups a child can do, the lower the chances of them that excess weight, but then again, let's see.

In the wake of the study

If this informal study the old gym teacher claim confirms that children who can do pull ups never are obese, the next step is to get your hands on a height-adjustable pull up bar, and the introduction of all children who do not pull ups subsidized pull ups (jumping and at the same time) as a simple, affordable and predictable way for them to learn to their own weight physically leg.

Your goal is. ..

With the help of the stimulus of strength gains (all children, including both boys and girls want to strong), and the ability to immunize against obesity for life, as long as they are this simple capacity to maintain, the strategy is to have a lot of those children who do not pull ups in children who can pull ups., and then make sure that you understand that any guy who can help you learn to pull ups, represents a more documented bite you've taken of childhood obesity in your community.

Please do not forget to ...

While you do not forget the local media tell you about what you put in the name of the prevention of childhood obesity and self-esteem improvement. If your experience is anything like mine, the media will eat to (as expected) and put you at a hero of the local community, instead of simply a gym teacher in the hope to prevent the pink slip of education budget in the economy in a recession.

* Why not using the body mass index (BMI) or skin folding brake calipers to mathematical body composition to determine? well to begin with, BMI is the accepted industry standard, not shall set out in detail in a lot of ways. for example, NFL running backs as the great Walter Payton or Emmit Smith at 5 ' 10 ", 220 kilograms of pure muscle would be considered obese, according to a BMI measurement. And skin folds caliper sizes vary so much that I don't even want to think I'd rather a lot. depending on a physical educator intuitive eyeballs to call.
